Solar Screen Care
Solar screens differ from regular screens, and require special care. Solar screens are made of a rubberized substance, and have a much tighter weave. Over time, the sun and elements will deteriorate the rubber compounds, and dirt and debris can clog areas of the screens. This will result in a grey powdery colored screen that is almost impossible to see through. left untreated, this condition can worsen, and rot the screens completely.
Our Screen Preservation Process
All screens are first removed and cleaned (see our Screen Cleaning section). The window tracks, top, bottom, and sides, are then brushed clean with special brushes to remove all dirt, cobwebs and dead insect build up.
Commonly with aged solar screens you will see little white spots we call "sun rot spots". We have a process that will remove 98% of sun rot, restoring your screens back to their original black appearance.
Using a specialized conditioning solution, we treat each side of your screen with not one, but two coats of conditioner. This conditioner is absorbed deep into the pores of the screen material.
We also cover the screen with a protective layer which resists dust, offers UV protection and doubles the lifetime of your solar screens.
